Ngorongoro Crater Day Tour

06:30hrs – Pickup from your hotel in Arusha City Centre and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a scenic journey and packed picnic lunch before entering the conservation area.

On arrival, descend 2,000 feet (over 600 meters) into the crater floor, a 304-square-kilometer caldera formed millions of years ago after a volcanic eruption of a mountain once taller than Mount Kilimanjaro. This unique ecosystem offers some of Tanzania’s finest game viewing and one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Explore varied habitats including forests with monkeys and elephants, a lake where flamingos gather, and open savannah where lions hunt. With over 25,000 large mammals, you may spot the Big Five along with wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, and hippos, plus Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. Birdwatchers can enjoy more than 500 species and other plains game species commonly found in the crater.

Enjoy your picnic lunch on the crater floor. Afterwards, drive back to Arusha with hotel drop-off around 17:00 hrs.
